PECR Statement

How Huuddle subscribers meet the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations standard.

Last updated: 1 June 2026

What is PECR

The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) govern electronic marketing communications in the UK. PECR sits alongside the UK GDPR and applies regardless of whether personal data is processed.

Huuddle and PECR compliance

Every Huuddle subscriber meets the PECR standard for electronic marketing consent. The brand receiving the subscriber can rely on this consent for the communication type the subscriber opted in to (typically email, and optionally SMS, WhatsApp or postal).

Consent standards

Consent is captured as an affirmative action, never a pre-ticked box. The brand is named in the consent copy. The communication type (email, SMS, WhatsApp, post) is described. The right to unsubscribe is explained at the point of consent. Consent is timestamped with full source metadata for the audit record.

Brand client responsibilities

As the data controller, the brand client is responsible for honouring unsubscribe requests promptly and for only using subscriber contact details for the communication type the subscriber consented to. The brand client must include a working unsubscribe mechanism in every communication.
